Managing Deer in your Community

Wednesday, May 22, 2019
05:45 PM - 08:00 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Overabundant deer populations affect our communities in many ways, both positive and negative. Members want to see deer around their homes and many will tell you that is the primary reason why they purchased their property, while others despise them for their destruction of the landscape and forest. Emotions run high on all sides of this issue and you need to be prepared to address concerns that at times may seem unreasonable. This program will present how two Pocono’s communities addressed the problem with high deer densities to reach a balance between many constituencies both internal and external. Come learn about which State and local agencies and private groups you must work with to reach a successful outcome. We will explore educational techniques and public relations strategies that have allowed our programs to be successful.

The program will be preceded by dinner.
