Join CAI's Central Pennsylvania Regional Council for a series of short, roundtable educational programs on the following topics:
Roundtable 1: Setting Up an ADR Program in Your Community
This discussion will provide attendees a plan to set up an ADR program in communities that don't have one, and how to start a process in associations that already have ADR in your association by-laws. We'll review how to select ADR committee members, and share a basic format for working through a dispute. New state rules adopted in 2018 as part of House Bill 595 and the impact on associations will be discussed.
Speaker: Dr. Vicki Ehrhardt, PhD, Village Grande at Millers Run
Roundtable 2: Go Green with your Next Project
As organizations look for ways to manage their costs, going solar has become an easy way to manage the bottom line while helping the environment for years to come. This roundtable will cover how solar works; the benefits of going solar and going green; how roofing and solar go together; tips for selecting a good roofer and solar installer; and available tax credits for green projects.
Speaker: Gordy Kautz, Kautz Construction
Roundtable 3: Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! Making Sense of Pet Restrictions
Some Associations allow all pets, others allow none, and still others specify what animals are allowed and under what conditions. Learn about some possible types of pet restrictions and the difference between service animals and (emotional) support animals and how that difference may impact your Association's restrictions.
Speaker: Sara Austin, Esq., Austin Law Firm, LLC
Roundtable 4: Transition Studies for New Communities
Learn pointers on handling the transition process including property inspection, identifying construction issues and negotiating with the developer.
Speaker: Andrew Dionne, RS, Yingst Engineers
When: Tuesday, February 19, 2019
