Conducting Meetings and Elections

Community Associations host a variety of meetings and are tasked with holding an annual election of directors. This program will review the following topics that are critical elements of all meetings and elections:

• Notice of Election/Meeting
• Quorums
• Keeping order through Parliamentary Procedures
• Nominations
• Voting procedures/Balloting/Proxies
• Minutes
• Public Forum
• Handling members who are not in good standing

Speakers:
Susan Egolf is a manager in the Association Management Division with Property Management, Inc. Susan worked in the Residential Division with PMI from 1996 to April of 2001, when she was promoted to Manager of the Association Management Division. The division manages a portfolio of 71 Condominium and Homeowner Associations. PMI is a member of IREM and CAI.

Steven L. Sugarman, Esquire is the founding principal of the law firm of Steven L. Sugarman & Associates, with offices in Berwyn and Lancaster, PA and Cherry Hill, NJ.   He is a member of the College of Community Association Lawyers and a past President of the CAI’s PA and Delaware Valley Chapter. He is a frequent lecturer at the local and national levels on real estate and community association matters, including programs on community association law for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.  Mr. Sugarman earned a BA from Cornell University and a JD degree from Temple University School of Law.
