Breakout Sessions I - 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Choose from one of the three following sessions:

Session I-A: Wonder Woman & Superman! Managing like a Super Hero!

Ever wonder how the super heroes do it? How do they manage an office, a calendar, endless meetings, staff, homeowner requests, arguing neighbors, maintenance issues, inspection and the occasional dog poop on the side walk? Learn effective strategies for juggling it all and boosting your productivity without having to call in the A-Team!

Speakers: Gus Rubbo, CMCA, AMS, CCR Management; Scott Wolf, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Greater Boston Properties

This session will be held in the Phillies Media Room. Register.

Session I-B: Managing Construction Defects

Many communities experience defects in the construction of homes, roads, clubhouses and other elements. How the manager, board and unit owners deal with construction defects can determine whether the issue is a short term headache or a long term problem for the community. Speakers will review statutes of limitations, inspections, record keeping, negotiating a settlement and what happens if the case goes to litigation.

Speakers: Timothy Snowden, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, Wentworth Property Management; David Altenhofen, The Facade Group East

This session will be held in the Club Meeting Room. Register.

Session I-C: Board Member Boot Camp Part I: You’re on the Board – now what?

Owners who are elected to serve on their association board have a tremendous amount of responsibilities, to themselves, their neighbors and the community at large. This presentation will review these responsibilities and discuss the critical issues of fiduciary responsibility, avoiding and disclosing conflicts of interest, the authority of the board and of the executive committee, and other topics important to the success of your term on the board.
