Take Your Membership to the Next Level: Join a CAI Committee in 2018

As a volunteer driven organization, CAI is only as strong and successful as our members make it. CAI’s volunteers are the driving force behind our success and our ability to deliver value and benefit to you, our members.

But volunteering with CAI doesn't just help us fulfill our mission. Volunteering is a great way to network with other members, share expertise back and forth, meet new colleagues and take your membership experience to the next level. In fact, 92% of our chapter volunteers have said volunteering with the chapter has been a meaningful experience that makes them want to remain engaged with CAI. In addition to the fun and rewarding experience, manager members also earn points on the PCAM application for volunteering with the chapter.

Our programs, publications, and membership services count on the active support and involvement of our nearly 150 volunteer committee and regional council members. Volunteering on a CAI committee can help you build long-lasting relationships that will help you maximize the value of your membership, whether you are a manager, business partner, or homeowner member.

Here’s a brief description of our committees, what they do and when they meet. Be sure to select a committee that matches your own interests, skills and schedule.

Annual Conference & Expo Committee - Plan and promote our chapter’s Annual Conference & Expo. Help with tasks such as education session topic and speaker selection, recruitment of exhibitors and sponsors, scheduling of events and volunteering on the day of the big event. Committee meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 9:30 AM, generally at the chapter office in King of Prussia or at the event venue.

Business Partners Council - Develop and promote educational and networking programs and services that will enhance the value of membership for business partner members and help increase membership among this member type. Committee meets monthly on the first Tuesday at 9:00 AM, generally at the chapter office in King of Prussia.

CAVL / Homeowners Committee - Plan and promote education seminars and networking opportunities for homeowner / board members. Develop additional resources for CAVL/homeowner members and assist in recruiting homeowner / board members to join CAI.  Homeowners / board members only, please! Communications & Content Committee - Although this committee helps plan and publish Community Assets magazine as well as develop content for our blog, @ Home with CAI, our new video FAQs and podcasts, you don’t have to be a writer to be  a member! In fact, the primary job of members of this committee is helping to identify topics for articles and finding authors among our membership to write those articles, and recruiting presenters to record videos and podcasts. Little to no actual writing is required! Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 11:00 AM, generally at the chapter office in King of Prussia.

Golf Tournament Committee- Help plan our annual golf tournament to make it a fun and successful event, including site selection, recruiting golfers and selling sponsorships. Gold Star Community Recognition Committee - Promote CAI’s award winning community recognition program and judge Gold Star entries.  Committee meets 5-6 times per year, based on receipt of award nominations, on Friday mornings at 9:30 AM, generally at the chapter office in King of Prussia.

Consider joint educational programs with the above associations and participate in the annual Legislative Day at the Capitol. Committee meets monthly on the second Thursday at 9:30 AM, generally at the chapter office in King of Prussia.

Manager Committee - Plan and promote education symposiums, webinars and networking opportunities for managers. Administer the Manager Designations Scholarship Program and assist in recruiting managers to join CAI. Managers only, please!
