Summertime is a tough time to recruit new members to CAI. People are on vacation and involved in summer activities and just not paying attention. Despite that, the chapter had three strong membership months between Memorial Day and Labor Day and our membership is up for the year overall.

Our membership campaign, Team CAI, got underway on July 1 and as of August 31, ten new chapter members have been recruited by our membership campaign teams! Here is an updated report of Team CAI Standings as of the end of August.

Team CAMCO: 3
Team Central PA: 2
Team MAMCO: 2
Team Philadelphia Regional Council: 2
Team NJ Regional Council: 1
Team Annual Conference: 0

Team CAMCO leads the way again this month! There’s still three months to go before the competition ends. Which team will come out the winner? Stay tuned!

Just in: Team CAI July Standings!

The Pennsylvania & Delaware Valley Chapter welcomed twelve new members in July – two of whom were recruited as part of the TEAM CAI recruitment contest. Stacia Scaduto from Wentworth Management, a member of the Philadelphia Regional Council team, Team CAIsuccessfully recruited a new business partner member and Lynne Scotko from MAMCO Management and Team MAMCO recruited a new manager.

In the early going, Kevin Brown from CAMCO Management and Team CAMCO is the overall individual recruitment leader, having recruited a total of three new members – all managers – since June 1. Kevin won a complimentary registration to CAI’s Summer Networking Party for his efforts in July! With Kevin’s strong performance, Team CAMCO maintains an early, but slim, lead over the other teams in the contest with three total recruits. Tied for second place so far are the teams from the Philadelphia Regional Council and MAMCO, each with two recruits. In a tie for third place, each with one new recruit, are the teams from the New Jersey Regional Council and Central Pennsylvania. Bringing up the rear, with no new recruits so far, is the Annual Conference & Expo team.

Team members are reminded that in order to get credit from national and in this contest for recruiting a new member, their name must be printed on the new member application on the recruiter line.

TEAM CAI: Form Your Team, Recruit New Members, WIN!

I am…You are…WE are…Team CAI!

CAI’s national president, Steven Brumfield, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, a member of our chapter, launched the Team CAI concept earlier this year. Team CAI consists of all of us sharing in the common goal of building better communities and elevating the professionalism of our industry. And the bigger the team, the more successful we can all be together.Team CAI

To that end, CAI’s Pennsylvania & Delaware Valley Chapter is pleased to announce our new membership recruitment campaign for the remainder of 2011: Team CAI. We have a fun, team-oriented plan to expand CAI’s reach and reward those who help make it happen!

A team based competition, the Team CAI recruitment campaign encourages current members to join and work together in teams of 2-10 players to recruit new members to join CAI. Teams will compete against each other to recruit the most new members, with some great prizes awarded to the winning teams. In addition, each new recruitment will count towards CAI’s national 30,000 and Counting Recruiter Rewards program.

Starting June 1 and ending December 1, Team CAI is a great way for you to strengthen your bonds with other members while also helping to grow the chapter’s membership…while having a fun time along the way!

The rules are simple: teams of 2-10 players must be formed and registered with the chapter office by July 1. Teams can be formed from existing CAI Committees (i.e. the Communications Committee can form a team), or co-workers from a management company or business partner member, or friends; the teams can be comprised however you see fit. Your team then has from June 1 until December 1 to recruit as many new members to join CAI as you can. New members can be in any membership category: CAVL (board members and individual homeowners in associations or condos); Community Association Managers; Management Companies; or Business Partners like law firms, landscapers, roofers, accountants, engineers or maintenance companies. New members cannot have been a member of CAI in the past three years in order to count towards the team total.

At the end of the contest, the recruiter team that recruits the most new members to join the Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter of CAI will win a cash prize of $500. The recruiter team that recruits the most community associations will win a team party at Dave & Busters Philadelphia or Plymouth Meeting location. And, the top individual recruiter will receive registration to attend the 2012 CAI National Conference in Las Vegas, NV and dinner for two at RAO’s Caesars Las Vegas with CAI Chapter Staff.*  In addition, monthly prizes will be awarded to the leading team.

Good luck and GO TEAM CAI!

RULES:

Teams must be registered with CAI by July 1. Register by calling 610.783.1315 or e-mailing: mike@cai-padelval.org. Teams can be between 2-10 people.

The contest will run from June 1 – December 1, 2011 and is only open to members of CAI’s PA / DelVal Chapter.  New members must join before December 1, 2011 in order to count towards the contest.

You are responsible for notifying the chapter which membership prospects you are trying to recruit.  In the event of a conflict over who the recruiter is, the chapter will go by the first member to notify the chapter of recruitment activity of a prospective member.  All decisions by CAI are final.

A new member’s join date, recorded by CAI’s National office, will be used as the official date of membership for purposes of this contest.  Existing member renewals do not count for this contest.

CAI Recruiter Rewards Program

Did you know that the majority of new members who join CAI come from members talking to colleagues, board members, friends, and others about the value of membership? By referring prospective members to CAI, you help grow the organization and raise the professionalism of the entire community association industry.

As a membership driven organization, CAI depends on new members to help us grow. The best recruitment tool, when trying to attract new members is our current membership. When current members find value in their organization, and are willing to discuss their positive experiences with their own personal contacts, prospective members are more likely to join.

Association management companies and managers work every day with a variety of business vendors and community leaders who are not currently members of CAI but who are excellent candidates for membership.

By helping to recruit new members, you are helping to make CAI a better organization—stronger and more capable of fulfilling its mission of service to your company and to all of our distinct member groups—that of education, advocacy and support to the community association industry.

What is CAI’s Recruiter Rewards Program?

Recruiter Rewards is the Pennsylvania and Delaware Valley Chapter’s way of rewarding members who help CAI grow. Here’s how it works…

Each time a member recruits a new member to CAI, you’ll be entered into a prize drawing. The grand prize winner will receive their choice of a $1,000 travel voucher to put towards a dream vacation or $1,000 cash just in time for a holiday shopping spree, to give yourself a gift, or however you see fit!

Additional prizes will be given throughout the year!

The more new members you recruit, the more entries you’ll have in the prize drawings. In addition, your new member recruiting also qualifies you for participation in CAI National’s Recruiter Club and the EVERY ONE COUNTS campaign, where you can earn additional prizes!

CAI’s Recruiter Rewards Program is open to any member who successfully seeks out and engages associations and professionals who are looking for information, education, programs, networking, and other services concerning managing or living in a community association. Prospective members are all around you and are easy to find, including clients, colleagues, referrals from clients, new or old community associations in your area, etc.

Tips on How to Recruit

Recruitment can be both fun and challenging. Having the necessary information and tools will better prepare you to tell your friends and colleagues about the great benefits and services offered to members at CAI. Follow these simple tips and you can be a #1 Recruiter.

Share your personal experience. Nothing can be more effective than you sharing your personal experience in being a member of CAI, as well as the benefits/services you receive from becoming a member.

Attend a community association meeting. Invite prospects to attend a community association board meeting to personally explain CAI membership. Don’t forget to bring prospective membership packets for each prospect.

Meet them half-way. Send membership information to your clients and offer to pay a portion of their membership dues for the first year. Clients who are involved and educated make informed and better decisions.
